Digital artworks by Alexa Harkai on cotton-silk scarves.
This project is about finding a doorway between the physical and digital world.
Digital paintings made with an office scanner using manual techniques such as moving around different unused materials and objects (e.g.:spoon, microwave grill etc.) on the scanner bed. Instead of throwing them out I use them for creating my designs, so I can give these objects new function and value.
The machine turns physical qualities into digital qualities, that are transformed into patterns.
