"Witch seeker" stool

 

Contrast is found upon the traditions of  Luca's chair, a Hungarian witch seeker tradition, realised within a modern framework. The original stool's composition is triangular based on the witch star symbol. Incorporating traditional motives into contemporary design is exciting as specific linkages and  contrasts can  be discovered between past and present. The stool’s purely  geometrical  composition sharply contrasts with the original chair’s organic forms and reflects the witch symbol.

The elements are characterised by regularity, nonetheless the result produces a delicate and elegant effect emphasising shapes. Thus, contrasts get further highlighted, not only to deliberately attract attention, but to encourage us to redefine such traditions in our own unique ways.
